Farewell, 2010-2011.

We have just one performance left before we say goodbye to the 2010-2011 school year. We’re sad to say goodbye to our graduating members: our director Pat, assistant director Rachel, jack-of-all-trades Marya, and Christian, the beloved Dane. But we’re also excited to announce next year’s leadership team: musical director Mitch, assistant director Caitlin, and business co-directors Danny and Dipika!

Stay tuned to our site this summer for information on fall auditions and shows, and as always, never hesitate to send us an e-mail to see if we’re available to sing at your barbecue or birthday party or whatever! The year may be over, but we won’t stop singing. <3 Have a great summer, friends!

Thank you so much to all of our fans and friends who came out to Acquirefest this year. We had such a great time performing with The Stanford Harmonics, Fleet Street, The Liquid Hotplates, the Men’s Octet, Artists in Resonance, Isang Himig, Cloud 9, and The Hightones. You guys rock!

…But this doesn’t mean we’re done for the year! We’ll continue to perform at events around UCSC and downtown, so keep an eye on our events page for upcoming shows. And we’re always looking for shows and gigs, so shoot us an e-mail for anything from your birthday BBQ to a charity event. We’d be honored to bring the aca-love wherever we’re needed.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us at the ICCA West Quarterfinals this weekend! It was a great privilege to perform with such talented groups. Congratulations to PLUtonic and the UCD6 for advancing to the next ground, and to Cloud Nine for placing 3rd! Slug pride! Check our events page over the next couple of weeks as we make plans for the rest of winter quarter and for this year’s Acquirefest.

This weekend will be our second go at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCAs). Thankfully, we don’t have to drive to Oregon this year! Berkeley is much closer, which is good news for both us and you. The competition starts at 8 P.M. on Saturday in Wheeler Hall at UC Berkeley. Buy your tickets now to come support us and our fellow UCSCers Cloud Nine and The Hightones!

Summer is Here!

Thank you so much to everyone who came our for Acquirefest 2010! We had such a great time performing with our guest groups and making new friends. Our most recent performance with The House Jacks and The Hightones was also a lot of fun! We were honored to be hosted once again at Kuumbwa Jazz Club in downtown Santa Cruz.

We’re taking a break for the summer since we live all over California, but we’ll see you in the fall! The UCSC school year starts in late September, so keep your eyes peeled for information about auditions and fall quarter events. In the meantime, enjoy your summer, and thanks again for a great year!
